A big thank you to everyone who supported the book fair by purchasing books, posters and other products. This year our sales were $2,588.42. This means that $1,294.21 worth of new books and materials will be purchased for the library and the reading enjoyment of all. Our school library continues to develop each year with the addition of new materials to support the curriculum, new fiction and non-fiction books, and new magazines for our students. The much anticipated Recycle Sale will take place December 3rd. Miss Zinyk’s Kindergarten class will attend on Monday, December 2nd. We ask that students coming to shop please bring their own reusable shopping bag. Thank you for your continued support of our annual Recycle Sale.
You are invited to attend a Progress Conversations Conference with your child and their teacher on Thursday, October 24th. You will gather to to talk about your child’s learning goals for this school year. Please contact the Office to book a time to meet with your child’s teacher.
Did you know that Stony Mountain School has a very active Parent Advisory Council (PAC)? Meetings are held every second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 PM in the staff room and child care is provided. PAC is always looking for new members and they want your input and your help, your specialized knowledge and vision for the school and how we use the funds we raise. The grade 8 graduation will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 24th, 2019. Students may arrive anytime between 5:30- 5:45 and will head directly to their homeroom. Parents and families can be seated in the gymnasium during this time. The ceremony will be about 30-45 minutes long, with refreshments and photo opportunities to follow. Please join us in celebrating these fine young people as they mark the end of their time in Stony Mountain School.
