Mission Statement: “to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes and develops equitable opportunities for sustainable academic, career and social/emotional development.”

Welcome to December!

This month we will focus on the spirit of giving; caring for others and ourselves over the holidays. Our Social Justice Group will visit Winnipeg Harvest, The Christmas Cheer Board and Feast Cafe. We will also continue partnering with our Community Connections group to knit and crochet dishcloths for Christmas gifts. Hopefully some of these dishcloths grow into scarves for some anticipated warmth in this season of chilly temperatures! A very big THANK YOU for the donations of yarn and supplies to start this initiative! We really appreciate your help.
Being Kind is a Gift to Others and to Yourself😊
Acts of kindness can be the most meaningful gifts. There is a growing body of research that shows there are many health benefits to being kind. Not only does it make the person who receives the kindness feel good, it has a ripple effect that extends to others, including the person sharing the kindness.

What Services Do I Provide?

- Classroom lessons and small group opportunities that focus on academic, career, and social/emotional objectives (such as MY Voice, Student Voice, Social Justice Club, Community Connections)

- Group counselling to address specific target areas

- Individual counselling:

Through individual counselling, your child is given the opportunity to succeed both socially and emotionally. Self-regulation strategies, cooperation, social skills, personal safety, and decision- making skills are some of the topics that may be explored, depending on the needs of your child. The goals of counselling include being able to recognize and express one’s feelings appropriately, use strategies to regulate emotions, identify strengths and challenges, participate in activities that promote cooperation, and to develop positive behavioral and social skills. Students can develop these skills through goal setting and reflections.
